Samarkand - Fan Niagara - Iskanderkul

Our journey begins in ancient Samarkand. In the morning, the driver picks up tourists from the hotel or a pre-agreed meeting point. We are heading to the Uzbek-Tajik border through the Jarteppa checkpoint.
The distance from Samarkand to the border point is approximately 41 km. Along the way, you can admire the rural landscapes and surroundings of Samarkand.

Arrival at the Jartepp border checkpoint. Tourists undergo passport and customs control, after which they cross the border on foot.
On the Tajik side, at the Sarazm checkpoint, travelers are met by a driver. After boarding the car, the journey begins across the territory of Tajikistan in the direction of the Fan Mountains.
The border crossing time depends on queues and the work of border services.

One of the most picturesque parts of the journey is the road through the mountainous regions of Tajikistan.
Along the way, tourists will see high mountain ranges, deep gorges, rivers, small settlements and amazing natural landscapes.
If road conditions are favorable, short stops in safe places for photographs are possible. The route runs along mountain roads, so the duration of the journey depends on the weather and the condition of the road.

Visit to the famous Fan Niagara waterfall, located on the Iskander Darya River near Lake Iskanderkul. Tourists will be able to enjoy the beauty of the mountain gorge, see a powerful stream of water, walk to an accessible observation deck and take unforgettable photographs.

After visiting the waterfall, we continue our journey to Lake Iskanderkul.
The road winds through majestic mountains, and as you approach the lake, you get scenic views of the turquoise water and surrounding peaks.
Depending on road conditions, there may be short stops for photos.

Iskanderkul is one of the most famous mountain lakes in Tajikistan, located at an altitude of about 2,195 meters above sea level.
The lake is surrounded by majestic mountains and is famous for the amazing color of the water, which changes depending on the light and weather.
Here tourists can enjoy a walk along the coast, relaxation in the fresh mountain air, beautiful photographs and free time to enjoy nature.

After resting near Iskanderkul, the return journey begins in the direction of Penjikent and the Sarazm border point.
On the way, tourists will once again be able to admire the nature of the Fan Mountains, mountain valleys and the beautiful landscapes of Tajikistan.
Important: three hours for the return journey may not be enough. This section of the schedule must be confirmed with the driver, taking into account the actual route, weather and road conditions.

Arrival at the Sarazm border checkpoint. Passing passport and customs control, returning to the territory of Uzbekistan.
The duration of the procedure depends on the queues and operating hours of the border crossing.

Upon arrival, the driver takes travelers to the hotel or agreed upon end point for the excursion.
