Departure from Samarkand

Check out from the hotel. Transfer to the Jarteppa border checkpoint.
Distance: about 41 km. Travel time: 1–1.2 hours.

STOP 2

Crossing the Jarteppa-Sarazm border

Passing passport and customs control. Crossing the border on foot.
After exiting the Tajik side, you will be met by a driver who will accompany you along the route.

STOP 3

09:00–10:00 Ancient settlement of Sarazm

Visit to the archaeological site of Sarazm, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Acquaintance with the history of the ancient settlement, archaeological excavations and cultural heritage of the region.

10:00–10:30

STOP 4

Moving to Penjikent

Travel from Sarazm to Penjikent along a picturesque road.
Distance: about 19–20 km.

11:00–12:00

STOP 5

Panjakent City Bazaar

Walk through the traditional oriental bazaar. Getting to know local life, national products, dried fruits and handicrafts.
Free time for photos and shopping.

12:00–13:30

STOP 6

Moving to the Seven Lakes

Departure from Penjikent towards the Shing gorge.
The road passes through mountainous landscapes and small settlements. As you climb, it becomes mountainous, and in some places unpaved.
The lower part of the Seven Lakes is approximately 50–60 km.

13:30–17:00

STOP 7

Seven lakes

The main part of the trip is a visit to the famous Seven Lakes, located in the picturesque Shing Gorge. Each lake has its own shade of water, surrounding mountains and unique nature.

STOP 8

1. Mizhgon

The first lake of the route. Picturesque mountain slopes and clear water create excellent conditions for photographs.

2. Soy

A lake surrounded by high mountains, with beautiful reflections of rocks on the surface of the water.

3.Khusher

A small mountain lake with amazing shades of water and picturesque shores.

4. Nofin

One of the most picturesque lakes on the route. Here you can admire mountain scenery and traditional settlements.

5. Hurdak

A cozy mountain lake among majestic rocks and green slopes.

6. Marguzor

A large mountain lake with impressive panoramas. Stop for rest and photos.

7. Hazorchashma

The last lake of the route, located high in the mountains. There are beautiful views of the surrounding peaks and nature of the Fan Mountains.

Return

After visiting the Seven Lakes, descend along the Shing gorge and return towards Penjikent and the Tajik-Uzbek border.
Arrival time depends on road conditions, duration of stops and border control.
